Trauma, intensive care is the branch of medicine. Many hospitals have a section that deals with the diagnosis and management of those patients who are in critical situations. Trauma Center is one of the important sections of a hospital that is regarded as a ‘Life Saver’. Sometimes it is called casualty department. Various high risk injuries such as car/motor vehicle crash, major burns and other injuries are treated at these trauma centers. Trauma centers are categorized in various
levels. Level-I is regarded as the highest level. While Level –III is the

lower level of the centers offers initial care in case of traumatic injuries. Surgeons,
respiratory therapists and emergency physicians are present 24x7 in case of
level-I trauma centers. Level II work in coordination with the level-I and
provide 24 hours necessary equipments and specialists.
